I'm an assistant professor of Canadian and digital history at the University of Waterloo. My main research interests include text mining, using digital archives, and how we can use big data to help us tackle (hopefully) important questions of social history. I teach digital history at UW, which includes a discussion of video games. I'm hoping to explore gaming more in my future work and teaching.
I program in Mathematica, edit a group history blog (ActiveHistory.ca), and am an editor-at-large of the Programming Historian 2.
